Tranzyme Pharma is developing a number of mechanism-based therapeutics for the treatment of gastrointestinal
(GI) and metabolic diseases. GI and metabolic diseases are characterized by large, underserved markets with
few or poorly performing drugs for most indications. The Company is focused on developing drug products
that address multiple therapeutic indications.

proof of concept in man is achieved, or when a program may benefit from the research,
development and commercialization capabilities of a partner. Through these strategic

Tranzyme’s MATCH™ technology can create high potential new drug candidates in many disease or
drug target areas. Tranzyme will enter into discovery and development partnerships to leverage
its proprietary macrocyclic chemistry technology and drug discovery capabilities.
